Please be informed that GoBricks started relocating their inventory into a new warehouse with more space and better technical equipment, which ultimately will lead to faster order fulfilment.
Unfortunately, though, during the relocation period the order packing times will be negatively affected and some orders may be delayed.
At the moment we are not aware of a specific relocation completion date, but the current forecast is early August.
To compensate for the inconvenience caused, we will credit your account with 150 bonus points in case your order is not packed within 12 business days from the date of purchase. Your bonus points can be converted into personal discount coupons in the rewards section of your account.
We will keep an eye on this matter and will post an update once more information becomes available.
2 August 2021 Update:
We have confirmed with GoBricks that the relocation process is still under way and, unfortunately, is not going to be completed this week. At the moment no orders are packed and all available resources are utilised to complete the relocation as soon as possible.
We do apologise for this delay, but to our regret there is nothing we can do about it. Hopefully GoBricks will start packing orders next week and we’ll be able to ship them soon after.
We will post another update early next week and, as promised, will be crediting 150 bonus points to all customers whose orders are affected.
4 August 2021 Update:
GoBricks have informed us that they resumed packing orders today. We still expect delays and will still be crediting bonus points for orders not packed within 12 business days from the date of purchase, but the situation is changing for good and hopefully soon it will be back to normal.
Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. We will keep you updated.
9 August 2021 Update:
GoBricks are still adjusting their new automated sorting and packing system and currently orders are being packed at a slow pace.
Once this system is fully adjusted, we hope to get the packing period cut to just several business days, but as of now, we expect to have most orders we received in July to be packed in the following two weeks and orders we received in August up until today to be packed by the end of the month.
As always, once we get more information on the matter, we will post another update here.
23 August 2021 Update:
Unfortunately, there are no good news we can share with you at this time, but we want to be absolutely open and honest and therefore are posting this update as promised.
As of now, GoBricks are still packing all orders manually. They have an enormous backlog of unfulfilled orders and recently decided to give priority to small orders and postpone packing the large ones until their automated system is finally configured. To our regret, this time they weren’t able to tell us when that could happen.
So far they packed only several of our orders that were placed around mid-July.
We once again apologise for the inconvenience caused and totally understand your frustration about this situation. In fact, we are as frustrated as you are, but the reality is that there’s noting we can do but wait for GoBricks to finish setting up their new system.
We will continue crediting bonus points to all affected customers, but if you are not willing to wait any longer, we will of course issue a full refund for you.
As soon as we get more concrete information from GoBricks, we will let you know in a further update.
27 August 2021 Update:
We finally have some good news to share.
As of now, GoBricks have processed most of the orders placed in July. We expect to have all our July orders to be packed and shipped by end of next week.
As always, we will keep you updated.
6 September 2021 Update:
GoBricks are gradually increasing the speed of order packing and so far have packed almost all orders made up until mid-August.
Overall, the situation is clearly changing for better, but we will keep you updated on the progress.
13 September 2021 Update:
GoBricks have processed almost all orders made on and before 23 August.
Overall, until their new automated system is finally ready, they will most likely keep this pace, meaning that the majority of orders are going to be packed within three to four weeks from the date of purchase.
Some of you may have already noticed that a few weeks ago we added a delay warning notice to our website pages, so now that the delay period is known and is more or less stable, we have updated that notice with a more precise information.
Provided that our customers can now make an informed decision when placing their orders, we decided to stop awarding extra bonus points for order delays caused by the current situation, effective today. That being said, we will still award bonus points to all customers who placed their orders earlier.
And, of course, we will let you know when the delay period gets decreased further.
26 September 2021 Update:
It’s been two months since we announced that GoBricks started the warehouse relocation process. During this period, we’ve been putting a lot of effort into obtaining information on this matter from them, and now as we have accumulated enough of it, we think it’s time to share our findings with you.
First of all, it’s worth repeating that the three primary reasons declared by GoBricks for the relocation were to be able to process more orders, pack them faster, and decrease the probability of them having missing parts. To reach those goals, they developed a new fully-automated packaging system. However, that system could not be installed into their existing warehouse, so the only possible way forward was to move to a new warehouse.
Unfortunately, though, the relocation process turned out to be not as smooth as expected. The automated system required additional testing and tuning, so after several weeks of unsuccessful attempts to switch to that new system, GoBricks decided to utilise manual packaging as the main means of processing orders, while gradually switching to the new system. What made the situation even worse was that such a solution required both warehouses to be working simultaneously, each having its own parts stock. Not surprisingly, that led to even greater delays and a huge backlog of orders.
About a month ago the situation started improving as GoBricks began increasing the number of orders packaged automatically.
However, as of today the issue has not yet been completely resolved as some orders still require manual packaging and there are still quite many orders in the backlog. Nonetheless, GoBricks say that currently the majority of orders are being packed within three to four weeks.
There are two external factors, however, that we believe will lead to further delays at least in the near future.
Firstly, the GoBricks’ factory and warehouses are currently experiencing frequent power outages due to a major power shortage in China. Secondly, a week-long holiday period is approaching in the country.
The above chain of unfortunate events makes us believe that the more or less realistic period of orders waiting in the queue is going to be around 4-6 weeks.
As we said earlier, we fully understand and appreciate the frustration of our customers caused by constant order delays, but to our regret there is nothing we can do to shorten the waiting period. As always, we thank you for your understanding and hope that GoBricks will be able to overcome the issues soon.
20 October 2021 Update:
We are happy to inform you that so far we get the majority of orders packaged within 10 to 15 business days.
While GoBricks are still working on cutting this period further, we do not expect it to significantly decrease in the near future. We will therefore treat the above mentioned packaging period as the new normal and have removed the delay notices from our website.
Thank you very much for your understanding and continuous support during this difficult period!
