Sometimes items you need may be out of stock. Or they may not be offered in a colour you want. Or our Parts Matching tool may not even recognise them. In any case, the result is — you cannot purchase those items. Nonetheless, there’s no need to manually check stock amounts and item/colour availability every now and then.
In this guide we will show you how to enable automatic monitoring and get notified when your desired items become available.
Enabling Item Monitoring
If you haven’t done so yet, add your desired items to a wishlist. (Check out this guide to learn how to add items by browsing our website, or this guide to learn how to import items from a parts list file.) Then navigate to your wishlist.
The “Monitoring” section is located at the top of the page.
Toggle the switch to enable monitoring with the default parameters and get notified when all items in the wishlist are confirmed to be in stock. Alternatively, click on the “Configure” button to set specific monitoring parameters.
Choosing Monitoring Preferences
It may not always be a good idea to stick to the default monitoring parameters, especially if your wishlist contains many unmatched items. While GoBricks do add new items to their catalogue every now and then, the more unmatched items there are in your wishlist, the longer you will have to wait till they all appear in the catalogue.
Therefore, sometimes you may want to ease monitoring parameters by lowering the percentages for the monitoring criteria or even completely disabling one of them. As a rule of thumb, we recommend disabling the match criterion if your wishlist contains more than two unmatched items.
Importantly, the stock criterion is applied to the matched items only and may still be satisfied even when there are some items in your wishlist that are unmatched. In the following section we suggest how monitoring parameters might be configured to accomplish a specific monitoring task.
Monitoring Configuration Examples
Depending on the monitoring goal you are willing to achieve, the monitoring parameters may be adjusted in the following ways:
|Goal||Match Criterion||Stock Criterion|
|All items in the list must be matched and in stock. (Default configuration)||100%||100%|
|It doesn’t matter how many items are matched, but all those that are must be in stock.||Disabled||100%|
|It doesn’t matter how many items are in stock as long as all items in the list are matched.||100%||Disabled|
|I’m more concerned with the stock availability than with the number of matched items.||80-90%||90-100%|
